1Sam 22:1-2 “The Necessity of the Anointing” Pt2

We know David for killing a giant and for the anointing that was upon his life. David was anointed three times. He was anointed 1st to kill this uncircumcised giant, anointed 2nd to be King over Israel, and 3rd to be King over Judah. David’s success in life in the endeavors he fulfilled in the earth on behalf of Jehovah was not predicated upon his size/position/strength but predicated upon a supernatural anointing or endowment over his life. David had to have the anointing on his life in order to be fruitful.

Every one of us must be anointed in order to be fruitful in whatever God has called us today, not just in ministry but in your family, on your job and in every aspect of life. The gifts of God must operate in your life and you must maintain the anointing on your life. The gifts of God are without repentance but the anointing of God can be snatched from an individual at any time. The gifts of God are like a car given to an individual but the anointing is the oil in the car that makes it run. Without oil, you cannot run the vehicle. You can destroy a $75,000 car by refusing to get a $45 oil change. The gifts of God are free and came with our salvation. Whether you know it or not God gives every person a measure of faith and gives them gifts.

Salvation is you being declared righteous, but the sanctification of God is you being transformed into the image of God. The gifts of God are free coming with your salvation, but the anointing is costly and comes from walking with God, sanctification and going through trials and sufferings in life. When Saul began to walk in pride and arrogance his anointing was revoked. The worse thing is when God fires you from your kingdom assignment, snatching the anointing from off your life yet still allow you to show up for work. Saul was the last person to know that the anointing had been taken from his life.

Sampson’s anointing was contingent upon his obedience. He laid his head into the lap of a beautiful woman, got his hair cut off and his anointing was destroyed. Then Sampson rose up and shook himself as he usually did and did not realize that the anointing had left him, that God had left him. What do you do when you realize that the anointing has left you? You repent, you go back to God and make things right with God.

THE ANOINTING IS NECESSARY:
TO HIDE YOU FROM YOUR HATERS
The anointing was taken from Saul and was given to David. You don’t have to do anything to individuals for them to hate you. Some people will hate you just for the sake of hating you. But the anointing of God will always draw persecution to you. There is a necessity for the anointing on your life but understand that you’re going to lose some friends/family/co-workers because they will see something on your life that they are jealous/envious of and covet. If you’ve got the anointing on your life even though the enemy comes to destroy you, God will always hide you.

V1 David escaped to the cave of Adullum. Every time Saul thought he had David, God would make sure David escaped. The enemy has been trying to kill you because of your anointing. The enemy has tried to attack everything in your life: your health/finances/children. David said my anointing did not stop my enemies from trying to attack me but the anointing allowed me to escape my enemies every time.

Ps27 The weapon will be formed against you but God’s got a hiding place and because of the anointing on your life you’re going to escape every drama/trauma that comes against your life. All though you’ve been in the trap and the devil thought he had his hands on you, you’ve got so much anointing oil on your life that you slipped out of the enemies hands and got away.

TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR FAMILY
All of David’s family came down to him in the cave Adullam. You need an anointing to do something supernatural and significant in the life of your family. What good is it to have an anointing to help nations and generations but you don’t have an anointing to help your own family.

When the man with the legion of demons was delivered and set free, he wanted to go with Jesus but Jesus said no go home and tell your family the good things God did for you. So many ministers are all over the world preaching the gospel to the nations and their own home is in chaos with family members that need salvation and deliverance. If you can’t manage your own house, how will you manage God’s house. You need an anointing for your home.

TO BRING HEALING TO THE HURTING
Everyone one who was distressed, in debt, discontented gathered themselves unto David and he became a captain over them. God is trying to teach David that He would rather David pastor pitiful people than be in a palace doing nothing with the anointing on his life. The anointing on your life is given to help hurting people. Luke 4:18-19 Jesus said the Spirit of the Lord is upon me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted.

The anointing of God is not for us. It is for the hurting. The anointing on David’s life drew those that were diseased, in debt and disconnected. The anointing on David’s life broke the cycle/yokes on those that were hurting. You’ve got to have the anointing because the anointing is necessary to heal hurting people.

WHAT IS CAPITAL CAMPAIGN?

Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give. You should not give if it makes you unhappy or if you feel forced to give. God loves those who are happy to give.

If you want to meet Jesus, pray this simple prayer…

I believe that Jesus died for my sins.
I believe that He was buried and rose again on the third day.
I confess with my mouth that Jesus is lord. I AM SAVED!

If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved.” – Romans 10:9-10 (The Bible, Easy-to-read version)
